PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder heat insulating structure for an injection molding machine having an easy maintenance of a heater replacement or around an injecting cylinder without increasing a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A stationary platen 1 is formed in a thickness equivalent to a total length of an injecting cylinder 2, and a hole 7 for embedding the cylinder 2 of a nozzle touching state is opened at the platen 1. Further, a packing 9 made of an elastic material is provided between a back surface of the platen 1 and a front plate 8 of an injecting unit 3, and a sealed space is formed of a wall surface 7a of the hole 7, a front plate 8 and the packing 9, thereby heat insulating the cylinder 2. Since a heat cover and a cylinder cover are not required, its manufacturing cost is reduced. Then, since there is no disturbing element around the cylinder 2 in the state that the cylinder 2 is retracted, replacements of heaters 10a, 10b or a maintenance around the cylinder are facilitated.
