PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectifier for a heat exchanger in which a heat exchanging medium can be distributed uniformly to respective tubes by reducing the current velocity of a high velocity flow while protecting tubes directly under an inlet pipe and foreign matter can be removed from the heat exchanging medium. SOLUTION: When a heat exchanging medium from an inlet pipe Pi is distributed to a large number of tubes 1, a rectifier S for deflecting the flow of heat exchanging medium is fixed removably in a tank T and a bottom plate disposed at one end of the rectifier S is mounted on the end part of the tube 1 such that the open end part abuts against the opening O of the tank T and a meshed part M is provided at the intermediate part. The bottom plate is held orthogonally to the stream line of the medium flowing from the inlet pipe Pi.
