PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device which prevents cleaning failure, irregular scraping of the surface layer, melt sticking of a developer and an image flowing. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic device has a structure for scrape- cleaning with an elastic rubber blade having >=10% and <=50% impact resilience for a developer having 5 to 8μm average particle size. A light-accepting member having an amorphous silicon carbide film as the surface layer 104 is used, and the surface layer has such properties that the wear amt. is 1Å/10,000 sheets to 100Å/10,000 sheets after the copying process for A4-size image is carried out on transfer sheets and that the film has 100 to 950 dynamic hardness and 5 to 90% carbon content.
