PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct comfortable operation through which an air flow and a temperature fluctuation are hardly felt, and to improve the economical efficiency of heating. SOLUTION: A hot air heater comprises a hot water heat-exchanger 14, a blower 15, and a hot water heat-exchanger inlet water temperature control means 29. Hot air supply is switchable into hot air down supply and up blowout. During down supply, the inlet water temperature of the hot water heat- exchanger is increased, and during up supply, a hot water heat-exchanger inlet water temperature is set to a value lower than a hot water heat-exchanger inlet water temperature. During dow supply, heating capacity is increased, the increase of a room temperature is rapid, and comfortable warming is practicable. Further, when a room temperature is increased to a value approximately equal to a set temperature, switching to up supply is effected. By forcibly supplied hot air having a low temperature, indoor temperature distribution is approximately uniformized and comfortable heating operation wherein a fluctuation in an air flow and temperature is hardly felt is practicable.
