PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active carbon block which is extremely easier to handle than the conventional powdery or granular active carbon since the active carbon is in a block form having an excellent shape retaining property and is extremely inexpensive since waste paper is used as a chief material and its formation method. SOLUTION: The waste paper 2 agitated in the state of incorporating moisture therein is used as the chief material and the block-like active carbon is formed only by the starting raw material. The method for forming the active carbon block consists in compression molding the starting raw material composed mainly of the waste paper agitated in the state of impregnating the paper with the moisture to a prescribed shape, then baking and activating the molded material. |
