PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the advantage of a matching search method without performing extra calculations by deciding one or more common factors for plural functions, representing at least some functions with one or more functions and reducing the throughput that is needed for matching. SOLUTION: Short functions (scale 0, scale 1, scale 2 and edge) which are connected to obtain nine basic functions have respective coefficients at the time of considering a more complicated example to which a connected basic functions are applied. By starting with an original signal (basic function 0) and applying the function scale 0, a basic function 1 is obtained. When a function edge is applied to the basic function, a basic function 6 is obtained similarly. When the function scale 0 is applied to a function 1, a basic function 2 is obtained. Then, it is possible to reduce calculation by utilizing common factors and characteristics of desired basic functions. For instance, the function 1 is the common factor of the basic function 6 and the basic function 2. |
