PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment for a water storage tank capable of securing a sufficient strength against an external pressure, inner water pressure and tensile force while reducing production cost without using skin plates and also an adequate manufacturing method for a water tank segment from which a skin plate is omitted. SOLUTION: Upper and lower opened frame body is constituted with a pair of main girder plates 4, a pair of joint plates 5, a plurality of reinforcing ribs 6 arranged between the main girder plates 4, and a reinforcing plate 7 connecting the reinforcing ribs 6 arranged near both the end portions of the main girder plate 4 to the joint plate 5 between the main girder plates 4. Inside the frame body 2, a tensile member 9 is arranged in such a manner that the reinforcing rib is clamped between the upper and lower portions of the reinforcing rib and further fresh concrete is poured inside the frame body 2.
