PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an inorganic-particle-containing polyester markedly reduced in a content of coarse particles by improving the dispersedness of inorganic particles in the reaction system after a slurry of the inorganic particles is added to the reaction system for the polyester. SOLUTION: An inorganic-particle-containing polyester is produced by adding a slurry prepared by dispersing inorganic particles in a diol component in an arbitrary stage from the initial stage of the esterification or transesterification of a dicarboxylic acid with a diol component to the initial stage of the polycondensation. During the production, 1-20 wt.% polyoxyalkylene glycol having a terminal substantially unreactive with the polyester and having a molecular weight of 400-2,000 or a derivative thereof is added to the slurry of the inorganic particles, and the mixture is introduced in the reaction system for the polyester.
