PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable operation at a relatively high rotational speed in a stable state. SOLUTION: A centrifugal aerator for sending oxygen into a liquid is equipped with the rotationally drivable impeller 10 attached to a vertical shaft in water. A disc main body 11 and a plurality of blades 12 downwardly protruding from the disc main body 11 are provided to the impeller 10. The respective blades 12 terminates at a point separated from the edge of the disc main body 11 by an arbitrary distance in a radius direction and, by this constitution, an outer peripheral region 16 free from the blades 12 is formed and the disc main body 11 exceeds the blades 12 to extend in the outer peripheral region 16. By this constitution, even at a high rotational speed exceeding 100 rpm, the hydrodynamically stable operation of the centrifugal aerator is enablled and a compact structure and the taking-in of oxygen reduced in loss are made possible.
