PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet for giving a good transfer image having a small fog by incorporating a photothermal conversion layer having high heat resistance and moisture resistance without influence of a coating liquid of a layer provided on the conversion layer. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet having a photothermal conversion layer and an image forming layer provided on a support is obtained by coating the conversion layer with a coating liquid containing an organic solvent soluble polymide resin and a photothermal conversion substance, and drying it. This resin is preferably a polymide of 5 pts.wt. or more dissolved in 100 pts.wt. of an N-methylpyrrolidone solvent at 25 deg.C. |
