The means for retaining the component in position includes at least one piston forming element (4) mounted to move along a fixed axis (X) and at least one clamping element (5) cooperating with the cutting means (6) and activated by the piston forming element (4). Machine for deburring foundry components comprises a support (1) for at least one foundry component (2), means for retaining the component in position and means for cutting (6) the burrs from the component, the cutting means being able to move in translation with respect to the retention means. The machine is characterized in that the means for retaining the component in position include at least one piston forming element (4) mounted to move along a fixed axis (X) and at least one clamping element (5) cooperating with the cutting means (6) and activated by the piston forming element (4). The clamping element (5) is mounted to move, on the one part, along an axis (X') parallel to the axis (X) and on the other part, along an axis (Y) essentially perpendicular to these axes (X, X'). The clamping element (5) has an end consistent with adapting to the outer surface of the foundry component (2) in a manner, such that the axis (X') of the clamping element (5) may be staggered with respect to the axis (X) of the piston forming element (4) in the plane defined by the axis (Y), so that the cutting means (6) can be automatically centered with respect to the foundry component (2).
