PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of using as a production intermediate for compounds having pharmacological properties and useful as medicines. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [R is H- or <=18C alkyl or alalkyl; an amine functional group may be isolated or protected], e.g. (9S)9-(1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2H-isoindol-2-yl)-3,4,7,8,9,10-hexahydro- 6,10-dioxo-6 H-pyridazino[1,2-a]diazepin-1-carboxylic acid 1,1-dimethylethyl. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a racemic compound of formula II (amine functional group is protected) with a dehydrogenating agent. Dehydrogenation is preferably carried out by using a strong base and a sulfur or selenium derivative and then using an oxidizing agent.
