PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline battery surely preventing occurrence of environmental stress cracks by a simple constitution and having excellent liquid- leakage-resistance performance. SOLUTION: A resin sealing body 28 into which a negative collector 10 is inserted and a negative electrode plate 12 are inserted sequentially into an aperture of a battery case, thereafter an aperture end part of the battery case is bent inward and caulked, to seal the aperture of the battery case. The sealing body 28 is packaged in the battery case in such an arrangement that a resin injection gate part 28c corresponding to a resin injection hole of a forming mold in the time of resin forming of the sealing body 28 is positioned on the aperture end side of the battery case to face the negative electrode plate 12.
