PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigator for narrowing down in a place name search. SOLUTION: A navigator is provided with a storage means 3 for storing place name data, a character-inputting means 11 for inputting an arbitrary character string, a place name-searching means 4 for searching for a place name with an inputted character string, a narrow-down-specifying means for inputting narrow-down conditions, a narrow-down-searching means for searching for a place name that satisfies narrow-down conditions being inputted by the narrow-down-specifying means, and a place name-displaying means 12 for displaying the searched name. Then, a place name is searched for by the above place name-searching means 4 and the narrow-down-searching means. Since a registered place name can be directly searched for, the number of input procedures can be reduced as compared with before and the name can be searched for easily. At the same time, by narrowing down, a desired place can be searched for even if there are a number of identical registered names. |
