PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and efficiently crush and separate waste materials by subjecting the crushed waste material metals and nonmetals to crushing, separating and working by a crushing clearance of a mm unit and hammer blow and discharging these metals and nonmetals from the square-shaped through-holes of the sloped upper side shredder dampers of a shredder oscillating in the mm unit, then sorting the metals to both metals of specific sizes. SOLUTION: Waste materials supplied to the shredder D are crushed and separated in an upper portion (a) and an intermediate portion (b). Namely, the materials are bumped against the freely oscillatable shredder dampers 17, 19 on the upper and lower sides oscillating in the mm unit. The crushing and separating are thereafter executed in the lower portion (c). Namely, the materials are compressed in the spacing S of the mm unit formed between the wall surface 11' of the intermediate wall surface 11 and the hammer of a shredder drum 14. The clearance size of the mm unit is the compression size of the crushed waste material metals and nonmetals of about finely segmented 2 to 5 mm. The crushed waste materials metals, etc., made into the assigned sizes are discharged to the outside of the shredder D from the square- shaped through-holes 117 of the shredder damper 17 on the upper side and are then classified to the crushed waste material metals and nonmetals.
