PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-performance lubricating film in which the a continuous sliding durability is compatible with low tacky adhesiveness by applying the lubricant of a perfluoropolyether compd. on the surface of a protective film, then subjecting the coating to heating or to washing after the heating and further applying the same lubricant thereon to discretely form layers out of the same lubricant, thereby increasing the layers to be strongly adhered to the protective film surface. SOLUTION: The lubricating films of a magnetic disk substrate formed with a ground surface film, magnetic film, protective film and lubricating film in this order on a nonmagnetic substrate are formed by using either of the perfluoropolyether lubricants having the polar groups expressed by formula I and formula II (where R1, R2, R3 are univalent residues, (m), (n) are integers), and applying the lubricant on the protective film and subjecting the coating to the heating or the washing after the heating, then further applying the same lubricant. The layers are discretely formed out of the same lubricant in the manner described above, by which the layers to be strongly adhered to the protective film surface are increased. In addition, the free layers of weak adsorption power is decreased. As a result, a high-performance lubricating film, which has a low tacky adhesiveness and continuous sliding durability and does not spin off can be obtd.
