PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate taking discharged documents on a discharged document stacking means disposed under a document stacking means in a document reading device without interferring with a document stacking tray at an upper part. SOLUTION: Documents stacked on a document stacking tray 4 are fed after matching a width by sliders 18a, 18b, the documents are read in a document reading part, and they are discharged to a discharged document tray 5 disposed under the document stacking tray 4. In the document stacking tray 4, a user's finger insertion cut 4a is provided close to the upstream side of the slider 18b, so discharged documents on the discharged document tray 5 can be taken without being hindered by the document stacking tray 4.
