PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steam heater by which material to be heated can be effectively heated even when drainage is retained in a heating chamber. SOLUTION: On the outer periphery of a reaction kettle l, a jacket part 2 is provided. A feed inner pipe 6 is fitted in the jacket part 2 and is connected to a steam feed pipe 3. A lower end opening 7 of the feed inner pipe 6 is opened to a lower region of retained drainage 8. By steam fed from the lower end opening 7, the retained drainage 8 foams and flows, thereby improving heating efficiency to the reaction kettle 1.
