PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject apparatus capable of sterilizing fungi adhered to the inner wall of a drain ditch. SOLUTION: A conductive basket 26 is provided in a drain ditch 20 and the entire inner peripheral surface of a part of the drain ditch 20 is covered with a conductive rubber sheet 40. DC voltage is applied across the basket 26 and the conductive rubber sheet 40 by a DC power supply 50 and the basket 26 becomes a cathode and the conductive rubber sheet 40 becomes an anode. Waste water reaches the space between the basket 26 and the conductive rubber sheet 40 and, when this part is wetted, a current flows across the basket 26 and the conductive sheet 40 fungi adhered to the surface of the conductive sheet 40 are oxidized to be sterilized. By covering the entire inner peripheral surface of the drain ditch 20 with the conductive rubber sheet 40, the fungi adhered to the entire inner peripheral surface of the drain ditch 20 can be sterilized to be prevented from entering facilities.
