PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a client side to easily decide on the transmission source and address of received document data by storing the received document data that a fax transmitting and receiving means receives, generating a list of reduced images according to stored documents and storing it in a storage means, thus generating a data base. SOLUTION: This fax server 1 at receiving of requests for browsing the list of reduced images from information processing terminals 3A to 3C through LANs 4A to 4C send data on the reduced image list stored in a storage device 1B of the fax server 1 to the information processing terminals 3A to 3C which have sent the browsing requests. The information processing terminals 3A to 3C are operated to display the reduced image list obtained from the fax server 1 on menu screens generated by the processing terminals 3A to 3C. The displayed screen is browsed to select a receive document, and the top cover page of necessary received data document data is obtained from the fax server 1 and then converted and displayed in a proper character size, thereby confirming its destination address.
