PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an uneven developing at the end of photosensitive material and an uneven processing caused by the fluctuation of the mixing degree of two kinds of liquids by setting a gap through which the photosensitive material passes in a coating part within the range of specified times as large as the thickness of the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The gap distance D of the coating part being the thickness of the gap between a liquid supply pipe 22, etc., and a counter roller 2 or the opposed surface when the photosensitive material is carried is set within a range of 1.05 to 20 times as large as the thickness of the photosensitive material. It is more desirable to set to the range of 1.2 to 15 times, and much more desirable to set to the range of 1.3 to 10 times. The distance W of a coating part in a photosensitive material advancing direction being the length of processing liquid, with which the gap is filled, in the photosensitive material advancing direction is set to the range of 2 to 500 times as large as the thickness of the photosensitive material. It is more desirable to set to the range of 10 to 100 times. Thus, the processing liquid is completely applied, the uneven developing at the end of the photosensitive material is prevented, and rapidness and liquid storing stability are improved. To put it concretely, the deposition of the liquid and the oxidative deterioration of the liquid are eliminated, and stain by the run mind down of the processing liquid and the like is reduced.
