PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a solid treating agent for a silver halide photographic sensitive material excellent in continuous production stability by specifying the surface tension of additive water to be used for the wet agitation granulation process of the solid treating agent for a silver halide photographic sensitive material produced by wet agitation granulation. SOLUTION: In the solid treating agent for a silver halide photographic sensitive material produced by wet agitation granulation, the surface tension of the additive water used for the wet agitation granulation is specified to <=60 dyn/cm. By specifying the surface tension of the additive water as above described, diffusion on the powder surface is caused faster than absorption of the added water by the powder, and granulation can be completed with an extremely small amt. of the water added. The amt. of water added is <=5 wt.% of the solid amt. to be added. If the solid treating agent contains at least potassium carbonate, p-phenylene diamine deriv., iron salt of polyaminocarboxylic acid, thiosulfate, hydroquinone and aluminum sulfate, the effect is more enhanced.
