PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball for a ball game further improved in softness as the whole ball in combination with the center part softness of leather panels while improving balance as a whole by heightening the deformation freedom of sewn parts so as to make the sense of touch of these parts soft and reducing the difference of softness between the sewn parts and non-sewn parts. SOLUTION: This ball for a ball game is provided with a rubber tube of a spherical hollow body filled with compressed air, and a skin layer 4 containing this tube being formed in spherical shape by folding the peripheries of a plurality of leather panels 5 and 6 inward and sewing the folded parts together with a thread. In this case, slits almost vertical to the sides of the leather panels 5 and 6 are formed at the folded parts of the leather panel parts 5, 6.
