PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well assure a visual field to the front end of the knife of an operator and to prevent the occurrence of abnormal vibration in a bent part by forming the bent part at a handpiece constituting an ultrasonic knife and setting the bent part at a position where the stress relating to the vibration in an ultrasonic vibration mechanism is zero. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic knife comprises the handpiece 11 and an ultrasonic oscillation circuit connected thereto via a cable 11a and an ultrasonic vibration mechanism is stored in the casing of the handpiece 11. A knife part 16a having a hook-shaped blade edge 13 projects from the front end thereof. The ultrasonic vibration mechanism has an ultrasonic converter and a horn and the free side end of the horn constitutes the knife part 16a. In such a case, the horn is bent at an intersection angle of 20 deg. and is joined to the front surface plate of the ultrasonic converter. The bent part thereof is set in the position where stress relating to the vibration in the ultrasonic vibration mechanism is zero. As a result, the failure by the stress in the joint part is prevented.
