PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black-and-white photosensitive material having good photographic performance during stored, especially having no increase in fog, and no irregular density in the developed part after heat development by adding a silver aq. soln. to an org. acid and/or org. acid soap by spraying method to form org. acid silver particles. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material contains org. acid silver particles, photosensitive silver halide particles and reducing agent on a supporting body, the org. acid silver particles are produced by adding a silver aq. soln. to an org. acid and/or org. acid soap by spraying method. Or, the org. acid silver particles are produced in a fluidized mixer. After the org. acid silver particles are produced, the particles are deaerated and dried while passing a substantially inert gas through the particles. In order to suppress whitening after an image is formed and to obtain good image quality, the smaller average particle size of the photosensitive silver halide particles is the more preferable. The average particle size is <=0.2μm, more preferably 0.01 to 0.17μm, and especially preferably 0.02 to 0.14μm.
