<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording liquid of a magenta color capable of providing a recorded image good in printing quality, having a bright color tone and a high density and excellent in light and water resistances even when used as the recording liquid for ink jet recording, writing utensils, etc., and recorded on a plain paper and good in stability by including an aqueous medium and a specific coloring matter. SOLUTION: This recording liquid is obtained by including (A) an aqueous medium and (B) preferably 0.1-8 wt.% of a coloring matter of the type of a free acid represented by formula I [R1 to R3 are each a 1-9C alkyl, a 1-9C alkoxy or the like; (m) is 0-2; R4 and R5 are each H, a 1-18C alkyl or the like], preferably at least one kind of the coloring matter selected from those represented by formulae II and III. As the component A, water is used in an amount of preferably 45-95 wt.% based on the total amount of the recording liquid and a water-soluble organic solvent (e.g. ethylene glycol) is used in an amount of preferably 1-50 wt.% based on the total amount of the recording liquid. Urea, thiourea, etc., in an amount of preferably 0.5-5 wt.% based on the total amount of the recording liquid and a surfactant in an amount of preferably 0.001-5.0 wt.% based on the total amount of the recording liquid can be added to the recording liquid.</p> |
