PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber ribbon having good heat resistance and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This coated optical fiber ribbon 10 has a ribbon-like optical fiber 3 integrally formed by arranging plural optical fibers 1 in parallel to a plane shape and a cylindrical protective member 4 disposed on its outer periphery and is provided with air layers 5 respectively between the inside surface 4i of the protective member 4 and the one plane 3u of the ribbon-like optical fiber 3 and the other plane 3d thereof.
