摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus and a measuring method for the breakdown characteristic of fine particles, by which the relationship between the peak value of the breakdown acoustic waves of the fine particles and the power density of a laser beam can be found precisely. SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus is constituted so as to be provided with a laser-beam radiation means by which a prescribed number of pulse-shaped laser beams is radiated to a sample liquid in a sample cell. It is constituted so as to be provided with an acoustic-wave detecting means 5 which detects breakdown acoustic waves generated by the irradiation with the prescribed number of laser beams. It is constituted so as to be provided with a waveform recording means 6 by which the detected acoustic waves are recorded as a waveform. It is constituted so as to be provided with a waveform analytical means 7 by which a maximum peak value among waveform groups of the recorded acoustic waves is found.
