PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preparation capable of preventing microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria over the whole area of contaminated spaces, and also excellent in safety to a mammal by including a specific anilide compound as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This antibacterial and antifungal smoking agent contains 2- methoxycarbonyl-4-chlorotrifluoromethanesulfonanilide as an active ingredient. The preparation is obtained, for example, by homogeneously mixing the before compound with an organic foaming agent such as an azodicarboxylic acid amide which has a powdery shape usually having about 50-200 mesh particle diameters, and preferably forming the mixture into granules having about 1.5-3 mm particle diameters. The application amount expressed in terms of the before compound is usually 1-1,000 mg per m3 space to be applied, or usually 10-1,000 mg per m2 area to be treated. The preparation is useful for prevention or the like of Staphylococcus aureus.
