PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having body operability by reducing the number of wirings for connecting a body circuit within a body of vacuum cleaner and a hand-operation circuit within a hand-operation part. SOLUTION: Only two wires 16 within a hose 9 interconnect a body circuit part 8 and a hand-operation circuit part 15, and in the part 8, a half-wave rectified voltage, wherein a commercial power source 1 is half-wave rectified by a half-wave rectifying means 3 in the part 8, is outputted to a wiring 16. And a control signal outputted by a hand-operation circuit 15 in synchronization with a signal ZVS generated by a ZVS generating means 10 during a period of half cycle, wherein the half-wave rectified voltage is not outputted, is sensed by a signal sensing means 5 in synchronization with a signal ZVS generated by a ZVS generating means 4. And a signal receiving means 6 generates a phase control timing signal corresponding to the control signal to actuate a motor 2 by means of a drive means 7, wherein the signal ZVS shows the period of rectified voltage equal to or higher than a predetermined rectification voltage. And the control signal corresponding to an operation mode inputted by a user.
