PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable telephone set where transmission of a radio wave to induce malfunction of various precision devices is completely stopped so as to surely prevent a heavy accident due to malfunction. SOLUTION: A transmission regulation device 102 sends a transmission regulation signal from a transmission antenna section 106. At application of power to a portable telephone set 101, a reception antenna section 107 receives the transmission regulation signal and a demodulation circuit section 108 demodulates it. Then a control section 109 compares the demodulated signal with a predetermined signal. When the demodulation signal is coincident with the predetermined signal, the control section 109 discriminates that the received signal is the transmission regulation signal and controls the operation of a radio wave transmission section 110 to stop transmission of a radio wave.
