PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refractory lining having a reduced wear rate and a prolonged service life as compared with a conventional magnesia-chrome brick as a refractory lining used in a furnace for steel refining, in particular refining facilities for vacuum-treating molten steel. SOLUTION: The refractory lining comprises a magnesia-carbon brick contg. 3-7 wt.% flake graphite, 1-4 wt.% non-crystalline carbon powder and 1-5 wt.% one or more selected from metal Al, Si and Al-Si. The max. grain diameter of magnesia is preferably <=3mm. |
