PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a small DC motor by restraining the friction of a brush commutator of the small DC motor. SOLUTION: This electrical sliding contact material involves an electrical sliding contact point, at which a flat-plate metallic brush 1 having an arc-shaped commutator piece 4 and spring elasticity conducts sliding energization, wherein the brush 1 is formed of Fe-based alloy, one, two or more types of metal elements selected from among groups IVa, Va, and VIa in the periodic table are directly implanted into the contact sliding surface of the brush 1, using an ion implantation method at an implantating rate of 1×1015 to 1×1020 dose (ions/cm2), and it is made into amorphous form by 0.1-100μm in the direction of the depth from the sliding surface.
