PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer corresponding to a network for efficiently printing-out a print job from plural computers through a network. SOLUTION: The network function of a computer 11 is incorporated in a digital composite device so that the print data of the other computer can be directly assigned and printed-out without being transmitted through a host computer. Also, data encoded at the computer side can be quickly printed by using the decoding function of a facsimile equipment in the digital composite device. Moreover, it is possible to use resources at the computer side without incorporating any large amounts of memory resources in the digital composite device by supporting the high level network function for freely performing access to the resources of the other computer on the network.
