PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden on a worker by enhancing measuring precision for a fuel assembly, in fuel replacing work for a nuclear reactor in a nuclear power plant and the like. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with a mast tube 2 arranged in a fuel replacing crane disposed inside a nuclear reactor, a fuel assembly holding means for holding a fuel assembly 1 provided in the crane, and plural contactless distance measuring means 3a, 3b provided in upper and lower sides relating to prescribed positions of side walls 11, 11 orthogonal in the view from an axial center direction of the mast tube 2. The fuel assembly 1 is held by the fuel assembly holding means inside the nuclear reactor, then displacements of the mast tube 2 and the fuel assembly 1 are measured respectively by the measuring means 3a, 3b, and bowing of the fuel assembly 1 is measured using the mast tube 2 as a reference.
