PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage and a scour by closing a space permitting the relative displacement of the underside of an apron and the upper end of an impervious sheet- pile wall of the lower section of the underside formed between the underside of the apron and the upper end of the impervious sheet-pile wall by a cutoff member. SOLUTION: The apron 1 crossing a waterway is installed on the river-surface side of the sluiceway of a gutter pipe for intake and drainage crossing a river bank, an impervious sheet-pile wall 4 is formed to the lower section of the front end section of the apron 1, and an impervious sheet-pile wall upper-end section concrete block 6 is mounted at the upper end of the wall 4 as required. A space section 7 is formed between the underside of the front end section 1a and the top face of the sheet pile wall 4 or the block 6 and an expansible tabular cutoff member 10 is disposed, and the upper and lower end sections of the cutoff member 10 are fixed onto the underside of the front end section 1a and the top face of the wall 4 or the block 6 while the space 7 is filled with an elastic joint filler 15. The member 10 is bent when the apron 1 is settled to the wall 4, and the member 10 is extended and a cutoff function is maintained when the wall 4 is settled to the apron 1. Accordingly, the damage of the apron by uneven settlement and the scour of soil and sand by separation from the apron of the impervious sheet-pile wall can be prevented.
