摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetron having a wide adjusting range of frequency and having no problems such as a discharge, etc. SOLUTION: This magnetron is composed of a positive electrode cylinder 11, plural positive electrode vanes 12 arranged inside the positive electrode cylinder 11 and forming a resonating cavity 13 in it, an external resonating cavity 14 electrically coupled with the resonating cavity 13 and provided out of the positive electrode cylinder 11, and two opposite metal plates 15a, 15b arranged in the external resonating cavity 14. In this constitution, for a first, a tuner 18 is operated to be taken in and out, up and down. Then, the metal plate 15b is moved by the in-and-out motion of the tuner 18, to vary the interval between the two metal plates 15a, 15b, resulting the variation of spatial capacity of the external resonating cavity 14. The variation of the spatial capacity of the external resonating cavity 14 is transmitted to the resonating cavity 13 through an electric wire 16, to vary the spatial capacity of the resonating cavity 13, thus the oscillating frequency is adjusted.
