PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable, generating no halogen gas when burnt, exhibiting safe and excellent fire-resistance, excelling in workability by having flexibility equal to an existing branch cable using a vinyl chloride resin for an insulator and sheath material of the cable and for a mold material at a branch connecting portion, and capable of passing a large current therethrough. SOLUTION: This branch cable is equipped with a trunk cable 1 and a branch cable 5, with its branch connecting portion formed by molding. An insulator 7 of the trunk cable 1 and of the branch cable 5 is made of a silane cross-linked nonhalogen fire-resistant polyolefinic resin composition and has a hardness (JIS A) of 80 to 95, and a material for sheaths 4 of the trunk cable 1 and of the branch cable 5 and a molding material 10 of the branch connecting portion are made of a nonhalogen nonflammable polyolefinic resin composition including a metal hydrate and have a hardness (JIS A) of 70 to 90. |
