PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match the width of a carbonization chamber by setting the boundary between a repaired brick and a brick to be repaired substantially at the center of any one flue brick part and forming a substantially vertical joint on that boundary along the flue brick part thereby avoiding mismatch of brick structure. SOLUTION: A combustion chamber 2 comprises flue brick parts 21 and wall brick parts 22 combined mutually and a brick part 23 is provided on the front face thereof. At the time of reconstruct an oven up to position C, rough dismantling is performed up to the intermediate part between positions B and C. Dismantling is not performed up to position C but performed up to a wall brick part in front thereof. When dismantling is performed subsequently up to position C, the dismantling line is set at the center of the flue brick part or in the vicinity thereof. Dismantling is performed by cutting the flue brick part 21 perpendicularly by a thickness corresponding to the wall brick part 22. Cutting is performed linearly and substantially perpendicularly to the height direction of the combustion chamber of a coke oven.
