PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new acrylate compound having an unsaturated group and useful as a raw material for coatings, inks, adhesives, etc. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I [R1 is H, methyl or ethyl; R2-R4 are each a 1-6C alkyl or an alkylene, or R2-R4 are combined to each other to form a ring; wherein one or more functional groups such as a group of formula II (R5 is a >=1C group) are contained]. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III (R13 is H, a 1-6C alkyl, an alkylene or the like; R14 and R15 are each a 1-6C alkyl, an alkylene or the like, wherein R13-R15 totally have 2-17 carbon atoms, or R13-R15 can be combined to each other to form a ring structure) (preferably isoprene) with (meth)acrylic acid orα-ethylacrylic acid in the presence (absence) of a solvent such as toluene in the presence of a catalyst such as para-toluene sulfonic acid, preferably in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor such as metoquinone preferably at 70-120 deg.C.
