A luminescent device comprises a plurality of organic EL (electroluminescent) elements, each including a charge injection layer and a luminescent layer between positive and negative electrodes and capable of emitting light individually. The conductivity sigma of the charge injection layer is set for the leakage current from the organic EL element to be equal to or less than 1/100 of the current introduced to the organic EL element.
