<p>A safety device (1) is described which is capable of diverting and slowing down or stopping a boat if the person driving it falls overboard, comprising: a) a portable transmitter (2) able to transmit a signal in the form of electromagnetic waves having a range equal to the maximum distance which the boat will be allowed to travel away from the said person who has fallen overboard before the said device intervenes; b) a receiver (3) able to pick up the signal transmitted by the said portable transmitter (2), detecting when there is no longer any signal and in that case activating a unit (4) which is able to slow down or stop the boat by cutting its propulsion and/or modifying its course so that it basically describes a circumference of predetermined diameter.</p> |
