<p>A device, a method for detecting, and monitoring the properties of the blood circulation system in a tissue is provided. The method includes the steps of transmitting (12) light energy at the tissue, detecting (16, 17) the light energy after having been affected by the tissue, and determining at least one property of the tissue. The step of determining the at least one property includes the steps of determining the attenuation of the light energy, calculating the time for the light energy from transmission to detection, relating the attenuation, and the travel time to the at least one property.</p> |
