A system comprising a host computer for storing digital music files and many automatic selling machines connected to the host computer and installed at remote sites, each automatic machine being provided with one or more reading/reserving device which allows a customer to select a music file and provides a function of reserving the selected music file, a database and a production controller for storing part of the music files stored in the host computer and for recording the music file selected by the customer on a recording medium, both installed at the remote site, means for paying for the purchase, a main device for performing overall control of the automatic selling machine so as to make a product of the music file selected by the customer, and a network device.
