The drum of the inventive drum unit has several jacket walls (1). One jacket wall is configured as a freely pivoting lid (14). A sliding plate (5) is placed in the drum. In certain positions, the lid (14) lies on the sliding plate at its free end and is controlled by the same. When the drum rotates in one direction (B), the sliding plate (5) stops the lid (14) in its open position and the drum empties automatically. When it rotates in the opposite direction, the lid (14) remains closed due to the force of gravity. Therefore, neither manual intervention nor operating devices are necessary for moving the lid (14). |
