The assembly aid fixes a ring seal (11) on a seal-carrying component (9) to a fixing edge (12) round a component aperture (8). The aid has a baseplate (2) with a protrusion (3), the foot outline (5) of which is cut to the shape of the aperture. The edge outline (10) on the baseplate (2) round the foot outline of the protrusion is the negative of the resting surface of the fixing edge on the aperture.
