The method involves setting the receiver to receive from certain transmitters, and then to call up the desired transmitter by entering the number of the channel set up for this receiver. After setting the receiver, the numbers of the channels are changed, so that the channels to which the desired transmitters are set, have the numbers required by the user to be used for calling them. Independent claims are also included for a method of changing channel numbers, a method of processing a virtual list of channel numbers and for a television (TV) receiver.
