A casing section including a feed opening is located between a flange and a drive section. Preferred Features: The casing section with the feed opening (the feed section) is constructed as a separate segment. The flange forms a separate segment between the feed section and the outlet-side casing section(s). A drive is fastened to the frame. On a stand fastened to the frame, wedges engage recesses in the flange circumference. The feed section has a thinner section than other sections and has a cooler. Axi-parallel shafts with adjacent, tightly-intermeshing screws occupy a circle in the casing volume. There is a gas outlet opening in the feed section. Tie rods connect the flange to the end of the feed casing.
