发明名称 Dna sequences which code a glucose-translocator, plasmids, bacteria, yeasts and plants containing this translocator
摘要 The invention relates to DNA sequences from Zea mays (corn), Solanum tuberosum (potato) and Spinacia oleracea (spinach) which contain the coding region of a glucose-translocator. The introduction of said DNA sequences in a vegetable genome modifies the formation and transmission of carbon parent structures in transgenic plants, plasmids, yeasts and bacteria containing these DNA sequences. The invention also relates to transgenic plants in which modifications of the activity of the glucose-translocator and thus alterations in the carbon metabolism are provoked by introducing the DNA sequences. In addition, the invention relates to the use of the described sequences of the glucose translocator for identifying related translocators from other plants (angiosperms, gymnosperms, and algae) by hybridizing with lower stringency or by PCR techniques. The invention also relates to the use of the glucose-translocator as a "target" for herbicides.
