System for removing test sheets from a printing press

A system for removing one or more printed sheets from a printing press has a mechanical grip comprising a horizontal lip (3, a vertical stop (11) and a sprung grip (4) to secure the leading edges of the sheets. The system is positioned near to the end of the sheet holder whose end wall opens to form a lower guide (L2) and a tapering upper guide (L1) to guide the next sheets from the print process into the grip. The grip is retracted and the end stops swung shut when sufficient sheets have been removed. No air jets or complex servo drives are required.
